The Teledyne Hastings Instruments (THI) Reference Tube is an evacuated, sealed vacuum gauge tube accurately calibrated to precisely simulate a gauge tube at a given operating pressure. It is electrically equivalent to the metal and glass gauge tubes used with THI instruments. It permits quick and easy recalibration of THI Vacuum Gauge Indicators by merely plugging the instrument into the reference and adjusting the calibration “current set” potentiometer
until the instrument reads the exact pressure noted on the reference. THI Reference Tubes are available equivalent to most THI Gauge Tubes.
The HPM 4/5/6 features a precision A/D converter along with a microprocessor to measure the thermocouple vacuum gauge tube’s signal output. The microprocessor converts the measurement to a pressure reading by employing the gauge tube’s well-defined output/pressure relationship. The result is displayed using a bright, easy-to-read graphical display. Tubes are matched and interchangeable without calibration adjustments.
Teledyne Hastings Instruments products represent over 70 years of experience in the design and manufacture of gas flow instrumentation. The high flow meters and controllers featured in this document are based on the 300 Series line of flow sensors. The 300 Series transducer is a patented thermal-based flow sensor. This sensor is designed to provide an exceptionally linear response to changing flow rates. In addition, the electronics associated with the sensor are precisely tuned to give fast response time.
The Digital VT/CVT Vacuum Gauge Meters are available for three of THI’s most popular gauge tube families: DV-4, DV-5, and DV-6. These tubes utilize THI’s rugged but sensitive noble metal thermocouples that are designed specifically for each range. Tubes are matched and interchangeable without calibration adjustments. They are compensated for temperature and rate of temperature change and are corrosion resistant. The microprocessor converts the measurement to a pressure reading by employing the gauge tube’s well-defined output/pressure relationship. The result is displayed using a bright 3-digit green LED display
